This is what I found, however its for residential. I don't know if its the same for an office.....

During heat season, residential owners with tenants are required by law to maintain an indoor temperature of at least 68 degrees Fahrenheit between 6:00 A.M. and 10:00 P.M. when the outdoor temperature falls below 55 degrees. Between 10:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M., building owners must maintain an indoor temperature of 55 degrees when the outside temperature falls below 40 degrees.

My office is always cold too. The engineer actually told us that during the winter months they will not be using too much heat because that's what they're instructed to do. I guess the oil prices are too high for my company.....

omg i had to check who posted this like 40x bc some of my coworkers are on here and i was POSITIVE that one of them had to post. . .this is ridiculous!

FH bought me a space heater for christmas but in January they banned them - bc they said they 'regulated the problem!'

i am thinking of bringing an extra pair of socks - i already make sure I have a big sweater here

i actually was talking about it today - how even if you are in JAIL they have to keep the temperature reasonable!

I know that NYS law requires heat starting in November. Pretty sure it's not required in Oct.

I will ask FH if there is a regulation for minimum temp inside. Not sure if there is (He is an engineer who designs HVAC systems, so he's really up on the laws...)

I'm pretty sure 'heating season' starts in November, but I'll check with FH about this tonight when I get home.

ETA -- Buildings should still be maintaining these temps even if they law doesn't require it. No one should have to be freezing at work!!!!

I hear ya ladies!! My building is so cold and they are not turning on the heat until Oct. 25th.

Even the men are complaining it is cold, which is rare in my office!!
