NWR: Does anyone know of any shampoos that lighten hair.

I just got my hair colored and it is soo dark. I hate it! I told the woman that did it that its too dark and she said 'give it a month it will lighten up'. A month, excuse me??? When I got home I was steaming and FH said call the manager. The manager was right there and heard me mention it, so I don't want to call and go back there. That will be the last time that I go to this place.

I have heard that Palmolive Dishsoap is effective in taking some of the color out, but have personally never tried it. Good luck!

Did you speak to the manager specifically when you were there?

I've heard Prell strips color.

No not directly, but she was right next to the other woman when I expressed my dislike.

There's new stuff on the market called Color Opps (drugstores). It's supposed to strip your hair color without harming your hair any further. I'm not sure if you got permanent or semi perm but it might be worth a shot.
I was also going to say Prell.
But honestly, you should call them and tell them that you're not happy and have them fix it.

i had a similar issue.

the best shampoo to gently strip color is the clarifying shampoo by pantene.

just make sure you get a good conditioner too, because it also dries out your hair!

good luck!

happened to me a month ago, I used Prell and Sunsilk-the yellow bottle to bring out blond highlights and it really worked, wash hair like 4 or 5 times in the shower and condition it really well afterwards

Thanks so much! I just went to CVS, I don't know why I couldn't find Prell. I bought head and shoulders, I heard that also works.

those shampoos are not going to lighten your hair up that much. i am a hairstylist. i would suggest that you call and speak to the manger or owner before you start to play around with your hair. if you don't want to them i would use dawn dish wash soap or prell and mix it with baking soda. mix equal amounts. wash your hair with it. leave it in your hair for about 15 to 20 mins. this will help remove some color. after you rinse out the hair make sure you use a deep moisture conditioner leave that in also for 20 mins.your hair will feel like straw if you don;t. that mixture is good for blondes also who get green hair from swimming in pools in the summer.fm me if you need too
