NWR-does this sound good? Poll!!!

Hey guys,
I am a 28 year old teacher and I have a part time job (can't find full time) I have been looking for jobs and was just offered a sales job for $23,000. However, it is in Garden City (I am in Deer Park), I would have to meet sales quotas and I would have to work Saturdays, Sundays and some holidays. Is it worth it???

right off the bat, it doesnot sound worth it. what are the hours? is it in conjunction with the job you have now? i just got a new part time job waitressing and i really need to get my a$$ on finding a teaching job b/c i just spent a whole load of dough on school and it is what i want to do. so what i am saying is don't look into another field, keep looking for a job in what your degree is. just the experience alone will better serve you, you know? i should take my own advice. but seriously, it may be more conducive to take a job at a day care or nursery school where the pay may not be fantastic, but it is usually m-f and the experience may get you hired faster. i wish you luck. plus, deer park to garden city is a hike!

Why not work part time and tutor on the side to bring in extra money. I dont think its a good idea to go into sales. Its tough, and you really have to know what your doing.

Would you get commission also? What would you be selling? 23k is not worth those hours or the commute!

I voted no. I think you'll end up unhappy with the hours and unstable pay.
