Does anyone have recommendations for a place to board my pup for then night before and night of the wedding? All our family will most likely be staying the hotel so we need somewhere to keep my baby! I would rather a place that does not cage the dogs because he is used to sleeping with us in our bed so I would feel terrible making him sleep in a crate.

My FMIL uses Twin's Animal Hospital in Bay Shore and always has great things to say about them.

I have never boarded mine before either. He is like my child so I am very nervous about leaving him overnight somewhere.

My parents board their dogs at their vet, Jericho Animal hospital. They have been using them for about 30 years.

I feel ya. I'm so scared to leave my pup somewhere. I just don't trust anyone! I think I'll attach a Nanny Cam to his collar lol.

I don't know where you're located, but my family uses the Best in Show Pet Resort in Mineola. It's wonderful, my dog stays there all the time and he loves it. They upload pics to their facebook every day so you can usually see your dog during his playgroup :)

i have a petsitter i've used for 7 years. She has 2 of her own and often has a few more either for daycare or overnights. Her whole house is dedicated to the dogs. My dog has been going there since she was a puppy so she uses the electric collar there like we have at our house, but for the ones who don't, she will let them out often and even in the middle of the night. She's in Cold Spring Harbor.

We use Hounds Town USA. They're great and the dogs get to play with each other during the day, which my dog loves. He's always happy to be dropped off there! They're one of the most reasonably priced places I've found, and they don't charge extra for every little thing (e.g., some places charge extra for playtime and for feeding the dog's own food).

I am a little crazy about boarding my dog, I absolutely HATE leaving him alone, but the one time my mom couldn't watch him we had him stay at Fonab Kennels in Commack for four nights. They don't have a website but you can google reviews of them and theres like 40+ five star reviews of them. They match your dog with a buddy for however long you have him or her stay based on age, size, and personality. I called twice a day while we were in Disney World to check on him and they were always very nice and didn't make me feel like a crazy person for checking in so often. They are also the most reasonably priced (on top of best reviewed) place I found out of all the research I did (I am a bit of a compulsive researcher). I highly recommend them, their number is 631-543-0325. HTH and best of luck!
