NWR: Dogs and Airplanes

So I booked our plane tickets for FH and I to head to NY for Christmas/Wedding. Well we didn't want to make the 20 hour plus ride with 2 dogs, so we are going to take them in the plane instead of leave them for 2 wks. I'm nervous though, has anyone flew with pets checked as baggage?

I would love to know any experiences.

Delta Song assured us they would be ok.

I have not, but my uncle does it all the time with his two pups under his seat. I know they only book a certain number of animals on one flight so book early if you haven't added the dogs yet.

I would just inquire about the temperature for them. I ended up driving my fmils dog from NY to pheonix when she moved cause the temp on the runway while the plane was sitting in pheonix was too high, so i would just make sure that it isnt the opposite in the winter
