Okay so this is little off topic but I need your help! FH recently went on an interview and we aren't heavy drug addicts or anything but there was an incident on Super Bowl sunday where we were hanging out with some friends and we smoked. Well, fast forward to today and he was offered this really great career oppertunity. But he has to take a drug test. Apparently they are going to take his hair follicle and test it that way.
My question is, if he smoked February 6th and takes the test Monday, March 21st, will he pass?? (48 days I believe).
Please please please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you are uncomfortable responding here, FM is always appreciated!!! THANKS IN ADVANCE!

I'm not 100% sure...but I think a hair follicle test can trace something back to 3-6 months.

That bites...your FI should stop by GNC and see if they know of any tricks!

okay, well generally speaking it can be traced farther back, but as i understand it, i would think it also depends on how often he smokes and how much....
btw, i also believe that some drug tests don't test for marijuana but rather the more serious drugs like cocaine and morphine and stuff like that...
i would check gnc too or the local drugstore...they have stuff you can take to clear your system...a shave wouldn't hurt either!

Thanks for your research. I came across that website earlier and then did a little more researching only to find it doesnt work! I guess w3e will just have to wait and see.

usually if they do the 'hair test' theyre testing for the heavy drugs like someone else said....
and shaving your head doesnt work... they'll just pull it from your a$$

FYI - never had a hair follicle test but for a urine test the tips on this site are true...aspirin and lots of water = Clean urine (had to sadly scramble after being offered a job upon my return from Jamaica and the inevitable 'try' that happens there). It's worth a shot!

As far as I know you can't get the evidence out of the hair. That's why they take a hair test. But on the bright side (if the nurse I know is remembering right) The hair only shows if its a substantial amount. I asked because someone told me if you are around it second hand shows up in the hair and she said that it didn't. Hope this helps a little.

I had a drug test done where they take not a piece of your hair but a chunk of it. I was going for the 911 drug testing at the time.
The reason why they do this test instead of the urine one, is because it goes back from the begining. Not to scare you or anything.
They know that people go to clean their self up or go to GNC Store, so they do it this way.
They also told us that if the men don't have hair on their heads then they will go to Miami if you know what I mean. they do what ever it takes to make sure you are clean. With all of the things going on now.
So I guess he might be lucky.

I get drug tested at work (I'm a cop) and they take hair....it depends on the company -what they ask to be tested - but as for us - they do test for pot... ...And they usually go back 90 days... Also - shaving won't help - my fiance has a shaved head and they took from his legs - they'll find a place unfortunately I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news - but there is hope that it wasnt enough to show up!!

If he shaves his head, they'll take it from his legs or other places---and yes, it lasts 3 months---SO--I would get on the GNC bandwagon very quickly!!! (Although, I don't think it's work...but you can try)
And the hair test is used for everything....yes, even a little bit of weed. I know this for a fact through PD.

Well, thanks for all the help girls!! I think we are just going to try to push it back as much as possible without looking too suspicious. *crosses fingers* Hopefully he will be in the clear.
