Its a warning...they haven't confirmed that there is a tsunami, just that quakes of this magnitude have caused them in the past.
Still scary though.

Ladies... prayers are with your friend!!
Lets just be thankful they have a warning even if it turns out to be nothing, and lets all hope and pray that is what happens.

My friend island-hops too. I'm tempted to call her but don't want to use up her cell's battery. Will just keep checking the news to see what's going on.

Okay I just read on CNN that IF a tsunami wave hits Hawaii, that it won't hit until roughly 1:18 p.m. their time, which is 7:18 p.m. NYC time, AND that IF it hits, it will be a very decreased wave. Which means that people have about 3 hours to evacuate/reach higher elevations. This helps put me at ease.
