NWR: Easiest CC to get approved for?

NWR: Easiest CC to get approved for?

For some reason people are telling me I need another credit card. Right now I only have 1 Amex and my check card Visa. Family members are telling me I should shoot for a Mastercard or Visa because not everyone takes Amex, and it's better to have 2 so you have a backup.

I can vouch for the needing the backup CC issue, because while we were on our HM, DH was only going to bring 1 CC I told him to bring 2 just in case. Luckily he did, because the 1st one got declined (turns out it was a protection mechanism since he was trying to use it in another country) so he used the other one.

With that in mind, should I just wait until I get one of those credit card offers in the mail to apply? (The last one I got was 0% until 2008) Or is there a good one you can recommend. My credit is pretty good right now, so I'm not worried about getting approved, just wondering which card to get.

TIA

I like the Visa cards that give you rewards, personally. Chase has some good ones. You shouldn't have any problem getting approved for CC because you already have one card, but definitely get a Visa or Mastercard because not everyone accepts Discover.

I love Chase...they give you a great interest rates and they have the best reward cards...we can pick what type of reward card you want and they have a ton not just your typical flyer miles. Their customer service is awesome too.

I don't have a Discover card I have an American Express , which typically is the hardest card to get out of all of the credit cards. I closed out my Mastercard & Visa years ago, but figured it was time to get one again.

Sorry, I read that you had an AmEx, I just wanted to imply that out of Visa/Mastercard and Discover for a new card, V/MC was the way to go. I was paying attention! Sorry if I didn't give that impression, I should have clarified!

But I have a Disney Chase Visa, and everytime I get to $100 I get a Disney Dollar. So I've been using it for my schoolbooks to get there faster so I have a little extra spending money for the honeymoon. But they have all sorts-Borders, Amazon, I think they have a Starbucks Visa....but definitely go for a rewards card!

I like my RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland - go figure). They have a new American credit card branch out of CT for over a year. I actually get CASHBACK. For exaple, we bought tickets to Ireland for our summer vacation. I got a check back for 75 bucks!!! I went to the dentist and had a major procedure done that was not covered by insurance and got 125 back!!

They have a 0% offer for balance transfers right now too! All these benefits with no interest!!!

Reward cards are great but I prefer cash!!! Every little bit helps with the cost of this wedding.

I have a Citibank Master Card and I love it (it is the only one I tend to use). Their rewards program is awesome!
