NWR: English Teachers

Hello fellow English teachers! I have just graduated with my Bachelor's degree and I start a leave replacement position next month. My question is: Where did you get your Master's Degree and what kind of Master's Degree did you get? I went to Stony Brook for my undergrad. but I do not particularly want to go there for grad. school. It does not seem like they offer much in this area anyway. The only other option I have found is Queens College. However, that is a far trip for me to make especially while teaching full-time! I do need something affordable, which Queens college is, but the gas money would add up. Any suggestions? TIA!

I just answered this on BHB but I went to QC and was very happy with it!

Does Hofstra or CW Post offer a Master's Program for teachers? I would look into those schools.

Your best bet would be QC since it's known for its Ed program, but I agree if it's too far it may not be worth it for you

I did my Special Ed masters at Brooklyn College and I am doing my Libary Science masters at Queens. They are affordable that's why i went there plus they are closer to me. I live in Queens and work in Brooklyn...

But my friend did her masters at Adelphi. I know it is more expensive but she had a good expereince there.
