NWR: Exploring Long Island....

FH and I are trying to save money this year since we're paying for our wedding and the down payment to our house (that we're still searching for), we are not taking a destination vacation. Instead, we are going to explore Long Island. He grew up in Queens and i grew up in Rockalnd (Upstate), we are not too familiar with Long Island. The only place we've been to is Jones Beach!!! I know, how sad!!!

Sooooo...any advice on where we should go see? Hamptons? Montauk? Where else????

Definetly Montauk. We just got back today from there. We stay at the Ocean beach which is right on the water.

One thing LI has is so many beautiful places to go. I would defiantly hit the Wineries out East, Montauk is breath taking, even spending the day out at the Outlets in Riverhead is fun.

OUT EAST:
Shelter Island
Sag Harbor
Montauk
the vineyards...my favorite is Pindar

Long Beach (fun day at the beach followed by a night of drinking at the bars!)
Miracle Mile in Manhasset.... crazy expensive stores, but fun to window shop... and I guess it 's probably fun to shop there too if you can afford it!
