is there any way to make it so people cant see that you're on and starting IMing you? Its sooo annoying

Yes. Click on the little icon on the bottom toolbar all the way to the right corner where you see a guy and a green 'light' click on that and then click on 'go offline'

Yepppppp I am also always offline. If I wanted to chat through IM, I'd hop onto my AIM account lol
