ok ladies dh wants to make reservations for my birthday dinner next month. i have no idea where to go. i love trying new restaurants and eat pretty much anything would go to NYC, queens, LI...anywhere really

i've only been there once but i loved the river cafe in brooklyn. we went after work one day and it was so beautiful to watch the sun set

Gino's in Brooklyn - humungous portions and cheapo prices. excellent food.
Fushimi in Brooklyn & staten Island - again, amazing Japanese food - to die for!
Trattoria L'Incontro in Queens - its the only 5 star restaurant in Queens and its worth the wait to get it (if you can get it, you NEED to make reservations) pricey, but food is finger lickin good!

i second the river cafe in brooklyn. FH took me there after he proposed.
also check out il vagabondo in Manhattan. it's been my family's go-to spot for special events as long as i can remember. they have a bocce ball court in the resturant and Emril has recently plugged them on the food network for having the best veal parm he's ever tasted!
also the view (on top of the marriot) in manhattan is lovely. it rotates slowly, so you get a view of the whole city while you eat.

You gotta go to Vetro by Russo's on the Bay in Howard Beach, Queens. Love that place and I understand they will do a prix fixe menu for small parties.

Verona's in farmingdale was good John's of 12th street in NYC is excellent.
