So I just got a fax machine/printer. I set it up and now I need a fax number...do I call my phone company? Is it extra? Help! How do I get a fax number? Can I send out faxes without a fax number? TIA

ummm call your phone company b/c my old boss has a fax machine and it's the same phone number as her house phone
You don't need another line, it really depends on how much you will be using it. My parents had one but since they didn't use it much they used our regular land line. When ever they were expecting a fax all they had to do was turn off the answering machine and not pick up the phone. If you are going to be using it a lot and may not be aware of when you will be receiving faxes you may want another line
