NWR - FH Friends Rant

NWR - FH Friends Rant

i don't mean to sound selfish or bridezilla. most friends & family know we are paying for own wedding. Why do FH friends continue to ask him to go out for these crazy drink fests on the weekends.. I know guys are clueless. but the days of spending over a $100 bucks a night to drink are over. at least for now. i can find better things to do with that money. i understand a special occasion.. birthday.. holiday. but not just to drink beer on a Friday night.

luckily my FH agrees with me. Besides the wedding we are trying to save for a house too.

ugh... hope somebody else can relate ...or am i the crazy one?!!

i really feel like people cant find other things to do. FH and I arent drinkers, we dont mind going once in a while and have a drink, but i'm tired of how that is the only thing people want to do. But there really isnt much else, I guess. personally FH and I would rather go to a movie or dinner. I dont need to spend all that money on drinks so i can be drunk and feel like crap later.

Then people always want to buy rounds, and FH and I only want 1 each then we end up having to buy a round for everyone and not another for ourselves.. its annoying

$7 a shot? Thats why if my girlfriends and I go out we like to pre-game together a little and then go out and have 1 drink at the bars...

Do his friends still live with their parents?

i totally understand ... seems like we go through this every weekend. we are the first of our group of friends to get married, so we've become the 'old married couple' the party poopers etc. we dont go out to the bars like we used to b/c besides all of the appointments, wedding planning etc. we are saving for the wedding, a house and paying for our apartment along with all other bills, cars, student loans etc.

it isnt easy, they will understand one day

I know! My FH doesn't drink AT ALL and I only drink once in a while, and maybe just 1 or 2 at the most. We don't like going to bars. I think I'm going to start hosting 'game night' or karaoke or something like that at our house so it's not a big deal if we don't drink and others want to.

I can relate FH and I are already act like an old married couple. In the 2.5yrs we have been together I think we have gone out to a bar maybe 6 times. Neither of us thinks it's worth it to go out spend a fortune and feel like a$$ the next day! I'm sure FHs friends will 'grow up' eventually and understand where you guys are coming from.
