NWR: FH is pi$$ing me off!!!

Ok, so a few months before we were in engaged i got a new suv. At that point I had no clue he was going to propose.

Now, we are paying rent and bills on our own, living together, getting ready to be married in 57 days and saving for a house.

FH wants a new truck. Well the one he wants is the chevy avalanche and costs like 38000. Now I said keep in mind the insurance cost and gas prices and now he is mad because I don't think we can afford to have 2 high car payments!!!

His car payment now is 250 and I think its great. I hate men sometimes!!!

I know what you mean.. saving for a house, saving for a wedding, and paying bills is tough.. tell him to wait until after you are married

$250 is a nice car payment. I would like a new car too but too many bills right now. Can't he just wait till after the wedding to start thinking about such a big purchase.

Wow I'm sorry hun! Maybe if you tell him that some of the money you make from the wedding can go to the truck (so it causes less strain on you guys)... then he will wait a bit. GOOD LUCK

DH and I had many fights that were money-related before the wedding, and we still have differences about finances now that we're married and settling into our new house. We're definitely learning that marriage is all about compromise.

no because he wants it so he is going to get it regardless of the big events in our life. he is sooooo stubborn at times. he doesn't see the big picture. i dont care if he gets a new car, but lets keep the price range where we can afford. i don't want to work to pay for a car!

I feel your pain. Our car payments with insurance are almost $1,500 per month!!! Its obscene!

But if he's willing to pay for a new truck he needs to realize that it'll just take that much longer for you to save for a house. Which is more important?

I hear you! He nickle and dimes me on anything wedding related but drops mega $$ on his car and his computer. How is that fair?

My FH has an avalanche his car payment is 826.89 insurance is 526.00 and the things a gas guzler. My FH regretts it now. Tell him to think twice for something smaller

I would say try to talk to him one more time about this because it can become a potential problem. It does not make sense to start the marriage with all these bills.

Well have much arguing all day he said he is going to wait till after we move back to LI...which by the way I don't think I have mentioned!

FH and I are moving back to LI in June after my 1st year of teaching is over! Hopefully I can get something on LI!!!

If it makes you feel any better I actually sold my car to make sure we have enough money for our wedding. Now we get by with FH's car and my company car. I do miss my Honda though...

i absolutely agree! my FH also wants a new truck but thank god he owes too much on the one he has now which is preventing him from getting a new one.....theres one fight avoided

me and fh have one car between us. it is difficult esp. for him cause it is my car but i just say that we dont REALLY need it right now. i am crazy about money and i just want to be able to get a house in our lifetime!!! MONEY SUC*s!!
