NWR: FH is the best!!!!!
I graduated with the last class from Southampton College. I never was given the option to get a class ring, everything was all about preparing for Stonybrook's take over and enjoying whatever time we had left before everyone scattered. Needless to say, years later my mother offered to buy me my class ring being that I bought my own one for high school.
Years later, I still don't have a college ring. Southampton was more than just going to school for me. It really is where I learned who I was and what I believed in more than anything. I made friends who defined me. I did things that made me proud of who I am, and some not so much. It was my first experience of life!
Last weekend, FH and I were talking about the wedding and how he will be graduating from Dowling 2 weeks after we get married. He was saying how he wasn't sure if he would be getting a ring for himself, after all, he doesn't even wear his high school ring, it sits in a box. I told him how I felt about my college ring and what it meant to me.
Needless to say, last night he stops me and says he needs to talk to me, but its nothing bad. He didn't want to do so over the phone while he was at work last night. Boy did he have me worried! I hate it when someone says they need to talk to you. WHAT conversation ever started that way and ended well????![]()
Today he asked me what the size of my finger that I would wear the ring on, cause he was getting me my Southampton College ring for my birthday! He had other plans, but when he heard all it meant to me, he thought this was more important!![]()
He surprises me more each day. What a great guy I have!![]()
