NWR: Fishing & Crabbing

soooooooooooooooooo im pretty sheltered and i had never went fishing or anything of any sort..............

and this weekend has turned into a fishing weekend!

last night, FH, me, mom, dad & FSIL went on a fishing boat that left from Captree and i went fishing for the 1st time ever!!

we didnt catch anything (of all 70 ppl on the boat, there were only like 4 fish caught ) but it was so much fun!!

and now tonight, (after the Ronkonkoma Street Fair that im leaving for in 5 minutes) we're all going fishing and Crabbing off the docks in Patchogue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i really hope we catch stuff tonight!! but this whole new aquatic world is quite fun!!!!

im so proud of myself for broadening my range of experiences lol

my FH has exposed me to the world of fishing, it is def quite the experience. me and FH fished yesterday and now he went off to fish again.
he caught one fish yesterday, and I hope he catches something else today

Awww, fun! I used to go fishing out of Captree when I was a camp counselor. We used to take the kids and they loved it, although they would always catch more than me Have fun tonight!

ur sooo lucky!!! no1 ever wants to go fishing with me!!

no1 believes i make my own bait n stuff either. so they laugh it off like :haha yea ok'

We went fishing yesterday too... I caught a ton of seaweed! FH caught some slimy blob, we don't know what it was because it was flung back in the water so fast we didn't even look at it.

I hope you had better luck today! I LOVE crabbing!!!! Next thing u know ur gonna be watching 'deadliest catch' hahaha

heyyyyy so we went fishing n crabbing last night and it was alot of fun!!!

unfortunately, i still have yet to catch my first fish....

and we only caught like 3 crabs...cant make much w/3 crabs so we put them back in the water before we left...

but it definitely was a nice experience to be down by the water and stuff w/family n we packed sandwiches n snacks n stuff n hung out for a while!!

Barbbbbss.......For crabbing (cuz i never did that) you leave out chicken in the sun (like wings/thighs) and let it get all disgusting (it smelled SO BAD ) and thats what you can use as bait....

then if you have a crabtrap, u put the chicken in it, and its tied up to string and u tie it off on the dock n throw it off and the trap goes in the water n the crabs go for the yucky chicken....

ORRR if u dont have traps, some ppl just tie the string to the dock and tie the piece of chicken to the end of the string!!

u just check it every once in a while for crabs, its pretty cool!!
