NWR - Food Processors

NWR - Food Processors

For those of you who have food processors do you use it often and how many cups does it hold. I keep on changing my mind on my registry. Do you think I can get away with a 3 or 4 cup one?

I am going with a smaller one. Even my mom who is a hardcore cook/baker doesn't use a large one. Helll, half the people I know with FP's don't even use one, so I'd go with something smaller.

to tell you the truth, I rarely use mine, its easier for me to use a knife and a cutting board...

FH has the Cuisinart 14 cup food processor. he gets the most use out of it on Christmas Day, Thanksgiving, & Easter. Since we host it makes the prep work easier. Other then that I think we have used it maybe 6 other times during the year.

I registered for the 4 cup...I haven't had too many instances where I really needed one in the past so I can't imagine needing a huge one when I actually have one.

I have a small one now, probably only like 1 or 2 cups, and I use it alot. I'm registered for a bigger one, I think I will get a lot of use out of it bc I always deal with recipes that call for a bigger one. Plus, I love to cook so I think I would use it.

ok this might be such a dumb question but what exactly do you use it for that you can't use a blender for?

Not a dumb question.
It basically gives you different consistensies of certain sauces, etc... It also holds more liquid at once(t least the larger ones do).
You can pulse, puree and such. I'm probably not explaining it right...lol.

we use ours more than we use our blender though. HTH,
