NWR: For the new homeowners out there...

Ok, so my best friend just bought a condo this week and I'm trying to come up with a creative addition to her housewarming gift. This is the first time she's on her own, new place, new neighborhood and I was thinking of putting together a sort of 'survival kit'. Mostly just coming up with things in the area. For example: nearest supermarket, post office, coffee shop, nail place etc. I'm drawing a blank on what else I should include. Any suggestions on how to tie it all together? Thanks ladies.

P.S. She moved into the neighborhood I pretty much grew up in, so she's been asking me a bunch of questions about the area. So I thought I would put something together for her based on that.

i think that is a great idea.

what about short cuts...i know that it is always helpful to know those when getting around.

maybe include some restaurants, and deli's. i always like to know where good delis are.

the best pizza and chinese food for take out is good too.

That is a GREAT idea. What about printing up a list of all the nearest stores/restaurants/etc of phone numbers she may need.

Maybe include who does take-out, who is open late, who has the best coffee etc???

I think that's a great idea, very thoughtful and kind. The other suggestions are perfect as well!! If you want to purchase her something, maybe get her a gift certificate to a couple of local places... at the nail salon or something...
