NWR- for the young looking brides

ok ok ok so I know this isn't supposed to be a bad thing... ladies all over want to look young and fresh... I know.... but.............

EVERYONE I COME ACROSS THINKS I LOOK 16!!! It's so annoying!!! Someone yesterday even said to me 'I know you are older because you are getting married but you really look 16' First of all, who says that to a person without a clue they they may.. just may... be insulting the person! I will appreciate it when I'm older, I'm sure, but now I want to be viewed as the 23 year old that I am and be taken seriously! Not like a HS junior

Ok rant over.

Uggh I know how you feel lately... so many people have been telling me I look like I'm about 16. It's getting to be really annoying. And they act like they're in shock when I tell them that i'm 23, engaged, and going to be a pharmacist in a few months... I guess I shouldn't complain, but it just really gets on my nerves! Especially at work, no one ever thinks that I could be the pharmacist... and in a few months I will be, I don't think i'll ever be taken seriously!

i feel your pain...
i'm 25 and still get carded for lotto and movie tickets!
but honestly...as soon as i hit 25 i loved that people ask...it's a bit of a pain, but it'll be so nice when i'm 30 and people think i'm 21!

My poor FH is turning 27 soon, and his brother is almost 30. They were at a supermarket here in Sweden and picked up some beers. Now, to buy these beers you have to be 18. The cashier IDed both of them and then gave them some very dubious looks!

I am/was the same way. Now that I'm 33 and FH is 42, we love it when people card us (it happened last night) and tell us we look too young to be married. But it annoys me other times like when people tell me they think I'm the TA, not the teacher, and things like that.

You might not like it now, but believe me, when you get older you'll love it. I always looked much younger than I am. I used to hate it, but now that I'm 'older' and people think I'm still in my twenties I love it

I went to lunch with my mom at Houlihan's yesterday while we were out shopping and the hostess (definitely younger than me) started to ask me if I wanted a Kids menu! I'm like come on now, I may look young and I know I'm not wearing make-up right now, but I don't look 12!

It always annoyed me and it still does kind of. I still love the expression on peoples faces when I tell them I'm 23 instead of 18.

I have to agree with you......it's annoying!! when I tell people at work that my DH wants to have kids like NOW they all look at me like you're young you have time, and I'm like, I'll be 28 in a month and he'll be 33 in a few months.......we BOTH look 18 so we get it all the time!!!! what's funny is that if this was 30 years ago, 20-23 would be the age you're 'supposed' to get married......my MIL was 20 when she got married, so she thinks we were way behind since we dated 7 years!! don't let people get you down! it's really annoying, but try to respond back to them with a 'thanks for the compliment' without showing your annoyance.....it's all you can do lol!

hahaha...don't worry, in a few years, you'll LOVE that people are saying that to you! I'm almost 29, but I still get carded. I used to hate that, but now I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

I got this same exact response at the nails salon!! This woman noticed I was engaged and when she asked me a question about the wedding I told her how much I can't wait and it feels like I've been waiting so long for this.. her says... 'but how long could you have been waiting, you're such a baby!!' Next time I'm not gonna correct people by saying 23. I'll give 'em a bit more of a shocker and say I'm 27 haha. I'd love to see their expressions.

Another big one is I sub in an elementary school and the KIDS ask me if I'm a student or a teacher

People tell me I look like Im in high school and the guy at the corner store has laughed at me when I tried to buy a lotto ticket! Like Im trying to pull one over on him! But I love it and will always love it because one day all of that will change!!

FH and I always joke that when we have kids, I'll be walking along and people will look at me and think 'What's with these kids today and their teenage pregnancies'

I'm 22 and I look like I'm 16, so I totally understand what you girls are talking about. I know I will appreciate it when I'm older, but it does get annoying after a while.

I know this feeling!! One of my moms friend swore my sister was the one getting married because she thought I was the younger one!
