I can't really vote b/c FH and I don't live together, but he is definitely the cook. I don't mind cooking but I just don't have the patience when I'm starving to cook a meal. I do LOVE baking!! So FH likes to cook for me. He is quite an excellent chef I might add!!

i do most of the cooking ... especially now since i'm home all summer. (i'm one of those searching for a permanent teaching position for september!) i wouldn't mind all this cooking, but it seems like i'm making the same things week after week. it gets boring after a while! you'd think that my many cookbooks would help, too. not exactly!

we both work the same amount of hours-- the only difference is he goes to school (so he takes one or two classes in addition to work) so I cook say 60% of the time b/c of that... and he does 40%..... we feel that's fair based on our schedules. now, during my parents marriage my dad worked and my mom was a homemaker so she would cook pretty much all the time-- when he retired, it became more even-- b/c she was still a homemaker and took care of everything but he did not work anymore so now he cooks pretty much 80% and my mom 20%... so it's fair. i would cook a lot more if FH worked and i didn't or he worked full time and i only worked like 2 days a week-- but b/c we are both working so hard we split it to be fair. HTH

ETA: also, a lot of the time we cook together-- we have a lot of fun doing that.

I cook any night that I am home early enough to do so--if I work late or come home from classes late, its his night to cook. But most of the time i do it. And anytime we have company over I do all the cooking. But he always helps clean up after I cook!!

My option was not on the poll. I cook about 3 nights out of the week and he cleans the mess. All the other nights we order in or eat out.

We just had my bf move in to help with saving for the wedding (we have a 2 bdrm and put the excersize stuff in the basement). With the new addition we all cook together. John does all the meat cooking (grilling, frying, whatever pertains to meat). Laura does starch and veggie and I am the prep guy (slicing, dicing, shis-kababer).

It actually works out fabulously. We all have a job and we all clean up. Laura washes, I dry and put away, John clears and wipes everything down.

Hope this helps.

I cook a few nights a week (about 3). The other nights we either order in, go out over the weekends or fend for ourselves. Nothing like a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats for din din!

I cook most of the time cause I hate doing dishes But he is also a great cook, so he jumps in once in awhile.

We split it. I cook Mon, Tue, Wed. He cooks Thur, Fri, Sat and Take out on Sun or go by his parents houst. We decided on this b/c it saved us money on eating out every night. I mean its nice to go out and eat every night but not realistic when you have a family.
