NWR- For those of you with adult dogs...

I NEED HELP! Here is the situation.
I have a yorkie (3yrs old) and a toy poodle (1yr 6mths)..both males..both neutered. Keep in mind Ive had them both since they were puppies..obviously I had the yorkie first SOOO...my yorkie (Brownie) is littered trained. He has his own litter (yep, just like a cat)..and it took me less than a week to train him that there is where hes suppose to use the bathroom. Ok..my poodle (Butters)..came into the picture when Brownie was about 1yr 6mths..and ever since I have been trying to train him to use the little pan..and its IMPOSSIBLE! Hes almost 2yrs old (in June)...and still pees and poos all over the house. He drives me nuts! The funny thing is that he KNOWS he is bad..because once he pees on the floor he either runs into his cage or runs under neather the bed where no one can get him. And he understands the command 'go pee'..yea go figure...when I say 'go pee' he runs to the litter and pees...but he just cant get to doing it on his own. First I thought maybe he doesnt want to share a little pan with Brownie...so I brought a seperate one for him..NOPE. Then I thought I reward him with treats when he used the litter...Didnt work either....I just dont know what to do! Any suggestions. Sorry for the long post.

This is a situation i am all too familiar with. My dog which will be 3 this year, is trained to go on her wee-wee pad however sometimes she just doesnt feel like going on it and will go on the living room floor. This rarely happens anymore, it was ALOT more frequent before when she was younger. I think its just a stage that they eventually grow out of, this is especially with small dogs, i think they might have smaller brains hehe, and i also realized that my dog prefers to go to the bathroom outside rather than inside now so i take her outside everyday as long as its not wet or too cold.

Im sorry im not too much help but i feel your pain! Sometimes i think of getting another dog too keep Bella ocmpany but i just cant imagine going through this wee-wee pad training again!

ETA: Youre dogs are soooo cute! Youre poodle is just ad0rable!

It took a loooonnnngggg time to house train my dog. I tried treats and she would pee a little stop to get a cookie pee a little more stop for a cookie and then poop on the rug . She drove me insane. I got wee wee pads and she ate them. The only thing that worked was removing the woodchips outside. She didn't like the feel on her paws when she squatted to do her buisiness. Moral of the story is have you tried switching litter? Also make a big deal when both dogs use the litter. If the younger one sees the older getting praise for it he may decide he wants to do it too. good luck and invest in some Natures Miracle it saved my rugs.
