FH and I have been house hunting. We currently live in queens together, we have friends in Queens and Long Island. We were looking into houses that would not make either of our commutes bad and still close to Queens not too far out on the island. Any of you girls live in Franklin Square? Thoughts on the area etc? Thanks much!

this is exactly the area we are looking into! FH lives in BK now and works there, I live/work on LI....we decided to do beginning of LI so we are about 20 min (no traff) to BK and his parents and about 15 from mine....
Franklin Square, NHP, Williston Park, Lynbrook.....all nice areas, from what I hear!

I live in Garden City South--one town over. I went to Franklin Square schools and I think they are great. I love living here! The only thing I don't like is that I am about 15 minutes from a parkway. It is a very safe neighborhood. You will def need a car to get around. Also check Garden City South, New Hyde Park and Floral Park. They are all close.

My cousin, her hubby and their 3 kids (ranging from 25 to 17) have lived there for over the past 25 years. It is a great area and they love it!

I live in Franklin Square. I grew up here and I went to Franklin Square schools. I love the area and would be happy to stay here when FH and I are looking for a house.

FH grew up there and his whole fam still lives there. They love it. They all went to Carey HS and John st. elementary. I am not sure about the other schools.

Its a really nice area. I know part of Franklin Square goes to Valley Stream S.D. too.

FH and I bought a house in West Hempstead-border of Franklin Square last year, FH grew up in Franklin Square and his parents still live there. He loves the area, as do his parents. I'm still getting used to the area.
