NWR: Friend Needs Help

My friend is planning a surprise b-day party for her husband. She wants to keep it at $30pp for about 50people. Does anyone know of a place with room to dance in either Queens or Nassau?

well i am planning dh's surprise party now its a pain lol

but does she want a sit down dinner thing like a catering hall type place or restaurant with sit down?

i know ammos does and has space for dancing but their menu starts around $35pp i think, also would she do beer and wine only or open bar? bc the places that have prices of $30pp or around that only include beer and wine but if you do open bar there is a separate price for that so keep that in mind.

Also when does she want to do it, friday night, saturday night or an afternoon thing? and if so around what hours? is she ok with ending it at lets say midnight or so?

Just asking bc for example, i dont want a catering hall type place, no sit down dinner. I wanted to do hotel penthouse or suite, rent casino tables, hire dancers and that sort of stuff. So again depends on what she wants.

in queens she can also try island, mezzo mezzo

for a different option, i know about this 3 floor house in the city that you can rent for $1500, i checked this place out for dh's bday but we would have to end it at midnight which i dont want to do. SHe brings in her own food and drinks though but the house comes fully supplied with everything.

Wow thanks for the info. She's planning it for a sunday afternoon (he works early the next day). I think more of a less formal event. I think even buffet style is fine. I know money is a huge concern for her so I think she's flexible. I would say open bar and dancing room would be the most important

well if its sunday afternoon she can get a better price then. I will say though that even for bridal showers, it can be like $25-30pp but NOT including open bar, so to keep in mind with open bar will come out to more than that.

I know riccardo's in astoria can do it for around $25pp for a sunday afternoon. Maybe even try Dante's, bruno's on the blvd.

I had my shower at island, if you want to show her pics i have pics in my album. You can see what they can do for you but like i said even with my shower on a sunday afternoon the food was separate price from open bar. My mom had to do a tab and then paid it off after and most places will do this. Thats why you see most girls on here saying that for their showers or RD's they had just wine and beer bc yes you can find a place for $30pp but WONT include open bar.

Theres a bunch of places in howard beach too such as villa russo she can check out. Theres also verdi's of whitestone.

Check out Villa Umberto's. They are in Elmont. The food is great and they are very reasonable and great to work with. They are in her price range and have whats she looking for.
