NWR- friends that lie

Do you have any friends that lie.?This one friend (she was a BM, and has anorexia; I have written about her before) has been making herself scarce lately, and every time we have plans to get together, she has some excuse. Tonight we were supposed to go to dinner and suddenly something horrible happend and she can't go, but she won't tell me what happened. I just don't believe her anymore since she always has an excuse. I hate this. And she was the one who suggested we go to dinner in the first place!

My MOH has a friend just like yours. She always sets up time for them to meet but she also always cancels.

I mean, there's a chance that something happened, but its not really horrible, and she's just using it to get out of our dinner. I don't think something REALLY horrible happened. But, I guess it could happen. It's just that I never know when to believe her excuses anymore.

If she is anorexic...maybe she doesnt like to go out to dinner...but doesnt want to say it. Does she know you think she is anorexic?

Yes, she has talked about it with me a lot. But the wierd thing is that SHE suggested dinner.

A lot of times anorexics suggest dinner because they want to show or prove to people that they are fine, when they're really not. She might have wanted to go to dinner, but at the last second bailed b/c it really is too much to go to dinner due to her eating disorder

Yeah, that is true. I don't want to be insensitive, but she will even come up with excuses to not show up to our tv night, and that involves no food. I'm just really sick of trying to be a good friend and getting nothing back.

I know exactly what you mean. I've been going through this for a while with all of my friends also. It's hard because you put in all of the effort and get nothing back...

Beth - I think by now you know that this girl has some serious issues. I would try not to make any serious plans with her...she really needs to get herself together and I think that there is no need for you to have to deal with her issues.
