FH and I are getting a new sofa from my dad for Christmas, but we don't know where to start looking. Our budget isn't that large, but I also don't want something that is only going to last a few years. Any suggestions?

I went to Levitz! I caught them at a great sale and wound up not paying intrest or payment for 2 years! CHeck them out!

Oh wow thats great! Im going to check them out this weekend. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for furniture delivery....i have heard nightmares.

we got our couches from levitz - through furniture.com
shipping was within the month

I got mine within 2 weeks. I have bought three couches from them, my Dog ruined the first two. LOL Now we have leather. But One of my couches I got within 5 days. I guess it depends how busy they are.

I've bought furniture from both places. I think Bob's has better overall prices but Levitz has great sales.

try bloomingdales. i know it seems like it would be pricey, but i got a full sofa, loveseat, chair and ottoman for like a little over $2k. upstairs they have a bunch... in RF mall

Yes, but Bob's is really like hit or miss...sometimes you find someting, somtimes you don't. you can't order anything. Why not try macys & fortunoff sale centers in LI? I've gotten really nice stuff there sometimes. (of course they are also hit or miss)

We got our furniture from Levitz when we got our first apartment, Its good stuff, but there was a bit of a hassel with getting certian things/
The couch came the fastest out of all the stuff we ordered

we got ours from Jennifer Convertible....they had nice stuff there however we dont like our couch
i know you said youre on a budget but do spring for something nicer than cheap if it is COMFORTABLE....we bought the cheapest sofa set and we were like 'well its not the comfy but who cares' and now we are KICKING ourselves...
