nwr- gall bladder issue?

I was wondering has anyone else had problems w/ their gall bladder? I have been having pains on my right side for about 4 months now. I went to the hospital for it 3 months ago but an idiot doctor told me I had a pulled back muscle w/out doing any tests.

Anyway i woke up this morning with pretty severe aching in that area and I am starting to get really upset and scared about it. I already have a very bad digestive system and I dont' need another issue right now.

It kills me if I am in the car too long or sit too long. Plus I am waiting for my insurance to come through which won't be for another month.

any input on this?

WHEN I GET GALL BLADDER ATTACKS ITS A PAIN IN MY BACK (ABOUT 4 INCHES UNDER MY BRA STRAP). IT FEELS LIKE A KNIFE GOING FROM BACK TO FRONT. VERY, VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. I HAVE BEEN PUTTING OFF SURGERY FOR OVER A YEAR NOW. I FIND THE BEST WAY TO EASE THE DISCOMFORT IS SITTING IN INDIAN POSITION AND ROCKING BACK AND FORTH. DON'T KNOW WHY, BUT IT SEEMS TO HELP.

Two of my friends suffered from gall bladder attacks. They both had surgery and have never had a problem since. You might want to see a
Gastroentonologist (wow I think I totally hacked that specialty name up). Your GP can only help so much in this area.

Feel better

I am having the same problem. I actually went to a gastroenterologist and had a endoscopy done. It turns out I have a hiatal hernia. I still have gall bladder pain especially after I eat fatty foods. I need to go back for a sonogram
My father had his gall bladder removed so I wonder if it is hereditary.

My aunt just had her gall bladder removed. Since they caught it early, the procedure was very easy and quick and she is having a very easy recovery period. If you wait to long, the surgery becomes more intense. I would check it out as soon as you can to avoid a worse surgery if need be. Good luck!

Being that I'm a medical student who is about to graduate, I couldn't resist answering your question. you really should avolid fatty foods in order to decrease the amount of attacks you have. other things that can cause attacks include rapid weight lossand taking contraceptive pills. If you do have recurrent attacks you should consider haveing a cholecystectomy (gall bladder removal). Nowadays it can be done laproscopically leaving behind only two or three small scars. You should really discuss the options with a gastroenterologist. You should also be aware of the signs of an attack which include: fever, pain on the right side just under the rib, nausea, vomiting and sometimes yellowing of skin (jaundice) which is a sign that it is more serious. Any other questions let me know. I guess i'll be the medical advice person of the group.

I had my gall bladder taken out a few years ago I was only in the hospital for one night it is worth doing trust me. If you have stones they can get cought in your bile duct and cause all kinds of problems if you don't do anything about it. I was only out of work for a few days for the surgery. Well good luck and feel better sometimes mylanta helps :)
