I work for a ob/gyn and always see the gardisil rep. I think its weird you cant get it passed 26 b/c they never tracked it passed that age. Gardisil helps prevent hpv which is an std that can turn to cervical cancer. My fh does have it and i dont so no reason to chance anything!

I got the shot probably a little more than a year ago. I was also very worried because it was new and my mother thought that I should wait. But when I went to the doctor she asked if I wanted it and I told her that I was a little bit worried. She said that she gave it to her 14 year old daughter and she personally felt that it was safe. In my opinion, I am sure you are going to be fine and not have any of the negative side effects that you are reading about. Do yourself a favor and not research things like that. If you already had the vaccine there is nothing you can do. I have banned myself from doing things like that. You can make yourself crazy lol

i tend to agree with the ladies who said not to worry. i did not get the vaccine, so my perspective is probably different as it does not affect me personally. i would be more interested to see the statistics of how many women are sterile who received the vaccine vs. how many are not. also, these women might have had fertility problems before the gardisil shot; since they were so young, they most likely would not have been tested for those types of things.

I got it in the last couple of months - I actually have the last shot scheduled for this January. I had to go for the 2nd one when all the news broke about the side affects. My doc used to work in an OB/GYN practice and is a big supporter of it. Every new drug is going to have some bad press (I also work in PR) and all drugs are going to affect people differently - its the govs responsbility to report on it. I wouldn't be too concerned - its like anything you do, you have the make the best decision at that time so I choose to take it.

From someone who has had canerous cells removed because of HPV if the vaccine was out when I was younger I would have gotten it in a heatbeat.

The risks are in my eyes worth it when you know all the things you have to go through if you do end up with precancerous cells or cancer.

Same boat! Trust me, just get it to be on the safe side. You don't want to have to go through that! I got my shots completed last year.
