NWR - Gender Roles

Re: NWR - Gender Roles

that is actually what me and FH plan on doing if I ever start making what we both should be making combined. this has been mine and FH's dream for ever since we got engaged. never have it occurred to either one of us that there is something 'reversed' in that way of thinking.

this is my fav part: 'The message young women and young men should be sent is that they are capable of making choices, and that those choices do not need to conform to society's norms.'

That was my favorite part as well. FH's dream is to be a stay-at-home dad with some type of part-time job or something he can do from home. I have zero problem with that as long as we could afford to do so.

I get tired of people who make stupid comments like its still the 1950s. I have nothing against a woman who stays home to take care of the family, so I see no reason why anyone should have a problem with a man doing the same.

This is absolutely something we seriously consider. My grandmother thinks it's awful that I wouldn't want to be home with my children

Honestly I love my job and I worked so hard to get to where I am. Why should I have to be the one to stay home??

My dad worked nights when i was growing up... he got home at like 6:30am and would sleep till 12 or 1... pick us up from school, make dinner, do laundry, etc...

ETA: Shaun has been considering opening a day care center...hes a lot like my dad...kids love to hang out with him and he loves to hang out with them...
