NWR: Getting Frustrated!

NWR: Getting Frustrated!

So I've been seeing spots in one area of my left eye. Like kind of like someone took a picture with a flash and it just won't go away. It's been over a week and it won't go away. So I've gone to an Opthamologist who thoroughly examined my eye, found nothing. Then I went to a Neurologist who told me nothing is wrong with my brain, he referred me to a Retinal Specialist who told me I am fine. He said that the spots could be coming from cold medicine that I was taking last week from the flu. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? I can't imagine that I am getting spots in my eyes because of medicine I took last week. I am at my wits end...it is driving me insane. Has anyone gotten spots like this before? I have gotten them, but at a much worse scale and only for 20 mins when I get a migraine, but never just in one spot for a week!!! I don't know what to do!!!

I've had that before. Are you looking at a computer screen most of the day? That might have something to do with it. Every 20 mins or so try and look about 20yrs away so your eyes can focus on something else. Hope it helps

No, that is the weird thing...no headaches. I have gotten the spots before a migraine, but I haven't been having any headaches this time. It is like a medical mystery!

I get this same thing.. I ususally see the spots when I really stressed and it freaks me out.. I will have them for a couple of days usually when Im starting to relax and then I stress again.. migraines usually follow about a week later

OMG GO TO THE DOCTOR ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!! My mother had that happen to her. For a while she left it alone, and it only got worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After bouncing around they found out it was like a retinal tear or something like that. I dont want to scare you- but I would go get that checked out ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I saw what they had to do to her bc she waited so long- they stuck a huge needdle in her eye... NOT joking! Then he used this thing that was basically freezing the tear or something... it was INSANE to watch... my poor mother!!!!!!! It was soooooo hard to see her cry and whine that she didnt want the needle in her eye. We started praying to give her strength!!!!!! Im not saying this is what you have, but please!!! Its your vision! You dont want to wait around! My mom only made it worse by playing it off! Please dont have to get something done last minute like her bc it was really hard on her.

Caroline, I think you hit the nail on the head!!!! I had gotten visual disturbances, and was concerned way back and went to the ER. They didn't really know what the problem was. My Opthalmologist knew right away!!! He said they were associated with migraines!!!!! When I told him I don't get migraines, he said one can get the visual problems, without the headache. Mary MOB

I have been to the Dr. Two of them in fact. One is a retinal specialist. Both of them swore to me NOTHING is wrong with my retina. The neurologist said nothing is wrong with my brain. I am a mystery!

I asked my mom tonight again how it started with her. She said she would see like a little light- like a flash. As time went on, her eye sight got worse. She said it was almost like a sheer curtain was in front of everything she looked at. For example: If she was looking at the tv...she was looking at the tv through the curtain. Does that make sense? I would def. go again to another retinal specialist- its just scary.

Have you ever had/been tested for Lyme disease? That can cause irritation of the nerve to your eye.

So floaters are in the inside of your eye?

Re: NWR: Getting Frustrated!

Any other neurological symptoms like numbness/tingling?
Any breast milk leaking or wacked out peroids?

Most likely though , like everyone else said, it is a non-headache migraine aura, which I acually get too, especially when I'm stressed!

Don't want to alarm you, but I would definitely continue to look into this. Have you had any numbness or tingling, any other aches and pains? My sister had this vision problem and other mild symptoms and was diagnosed with MS. The only way that the doctors knew for sure was to do a scan with contrast... It's definitely not something I would ignore or wait for it to go away. Good luck sweetie, I hope you get to the bottom of it asap and that it's nothing serious :)
