NWR- Gift...

NWR- Gift...

My nephew is having a Christening in two weeks. FH is the Godfather. We are going to give him a savings bond, but I wanted to get him something small as an additional gift from the two of us. Does anyone have any unique ideas? His sister and BIL are not very religious...they are basically doing this b/c it's tradition. So, I don't know if a cross necklace would be appropriate since they probably won't put it on him.

That's nice, but the problem is that she got so many blankets that were handmade when he was born. I feel like she will open it and say, 'Another blanket?!?!'

How about a nice engraved silver piggy bank?
Or just a plain gold chain?

Personally I think every baby that's christened should get a cross, regardless of whether or not the parents are religious.

Go to things remembered, see what they have, what catches your eye. Get something engraved... its something the child will keep forever.

I already looked there. Nothing caught my eye.
I am always creative with all of my gifts...so I wanted to get something special from the two of us (or at least from FH).

Does it have to be something tangible? You could have a star named after him. When you do that, you get a nice certificate that you could have framed. It would be something unique that he would always have.

You mentioned that the parents are not religious, but maybe you could get a piece of jewelry reflecting their ethnic heritage. For example, if they're Italian, a chain with the Italian horn might be appropriate.

Tiffany has some beautiful silver spoons that I've given as Christening gifts.
