NWR: girls on YAZ

My GYN told me that there are law suits going on against YAZ in Illinois because of blood clots and heart problems with taking it! Something about the drospirenone (or whatever it's called) that's in it causes major problems. She said it's not being recalled YET, but 'she's taking all of her patients off of it before it kills one of them'!!!!!!!!!!!! She took me off of it yesterday but it's so scary to think about it because I've been on it for so long!

every birth control has risks of blood clots and heart problems, so you should always be careful on any bc that your on.

That is so freakin scary! This is why I HATE being on BCP - who knows what all the hormones are really doing to our bodies. I can't wait to go off of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very true. This is nothing new, but I guess someone serious must have happened to cause the lawsuit.

I just called my gyno to see if she heard anything. I'm on it too, but these days better safe than sorry...

Yea there are risks with all bc pills but drospirenone is only in YAZ and Yasmin, and that's what is the major problem ....

Someone had a pulmonary embolism in their lung (that's the case in Illinois) and there are a ton of other cases across the Us

Almost all bc cause a weight gain up to 10lbs. I'm telling you I can not wait to come off this stuff but have you seen my dress?! I can not get preggers right now.No way!

u know what.. now that i effin thnk about it.. when i was on it.. thats when i ganied alllll my weight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and my booobs!! holy shytt i never reallly thought about it til now. i thought it was the chinese buffet in miami that 1 week.. but def not. 25 lbs?!!!

wow. i was placed on it cuz i had nasty acne and irregular pds

Dude...I stopped my Lo-Estrin 24 today...just throwing in the towel. The weight gain was redonccccccccuuuuuuuuuuuulous and I don't care, FH said it was OK, we can do the PNP and thats that

I used to do the rythm method (I was maticulous iwht it) and although not the smartest I def wasn't the heffer I am now...

umm what is PNP? I think I can figure it out but im not 100% haha

Yasmin has that same hormone in it. I was on Yasmin for 7 years with no problem except headaches during the off week (due to estrogen withdrawal).

IMO, BCPs are well worth the risk!!
