I'm on 40th and Broadway too but I'm not sure of a nail salon. I think there used to be one right next to my building but I'm not sure if its still there because of the construction.
Yes, I go to a crappy little place called Cozy Nails located at 205 W. 38th----b/t 7th and 8th--its on the 2nd floor. $11 bucks and it actually last a week-ish (for me thats a lot)!
Yeah I haven't seen any in this area (my office moved here in December). We used to be on 35th and 7th and there was a great one over there but I don't have the time today to walk over there.

I think its fine, I usually just ask them to push my cuticles back just in case but I'm also usually super picky about my places...a woman from work referred me to the place and I trust her!
