NWR: Girls with Endo or Adhesion Disease come on in......

Just thought I would start a thread incase there were some girls, like me, who are dealing with this and just need support or just others to talk to that can relate...........

Didn't know where else to put this, so I hope it's OK here........................

Are there any girls out there that are dealing with this at all? If you feel more comfortable FM'ing that's good too

Hey! What is this? If you don't want to post the info, you don't have to, but I've never heard of it, just curious.

My sister has Endometriosis and Polycystic Ovaries...its so sad, all she has ever wanted out of life was to have babies. She's constantly going to doctors and specialists. She wants to have children young (if she can) so she can get a histerectomy.

I feel for her and told her I would carry her babies, but she's determined to have her own.

I have both Endometriosis and Polycystic Ovaries...very frustrating. Particularly since I have a go to so many Dr.'s appointments, etc.

Although I am glad if it happened it had to happen to me since regarding the kids thing I can go either way

When did you get diagnosed?

I have Endo & PCOS. I have been going to endocrinologists & specialists for 15 years. After my 3rd surgery, I had given up on the whole kid thing.

But my specilaist up here put me on Metformin to control my weight & guess what... I got pregnant. And I was on the pill! Apparently Metformin boosts your fertility.

So all hope is not lost. It can still happen. Just hang in there.

I have Endo, Polycyctic Ovary and Adhesion Disease.....and yes, I agree.....VERY frustrating.

I was diagnosed at 15 with my fist surgery at 18. I am now 31 and have had too many surgeries to count.

I had to have a hysterectomy last year but it was a parital which they left one ovary.....but that's the one that's complety damages (cycts) and will be removed shortly.

The worst part for me is the adhesion disease. That's where all of my organs in my abdomen sick together.........very painful.

I'm on pain medication daily and it's so tough on our relationship But my FI is soooooo supportive.

Glad to see there are other girls that are going through the same thing so we can talk to each other about it...........

I was also diagnosed at 15 and had my first surgery at 19...I still have all my reproductive parts but when DH and I want to TTC they are going to go in and do something and after I have a child they are going to do a hysterectomy.

All this time I thought I was the only person who had both PCOS and endo

I personally don't have endo. I do have clotting issues and pcos. There is an infertility board on lifamilies but it moves real slow. I have gotten a lot of support and information from the fertility friend forums so it may be worth checking out.
My mom has endo and pcos and has had four children so don't give up hope ladies.

Do you ladies mind if I share this board with my sister? I think it would be great for her to have someone to talk to. She isn't a bride but she's a MOH and I love her! (And hopefully she will be a bride soon! She's waiting!!)

I had ovarian cancer and went through chemo and surgeries to remove the malignant cysts and or tissues I have been told that i have to have my children by the time im 25 or younger after that its a 50 50 chance till im 28 and a 20 percent ahnce till im 30 after that i cant have children. It was so hard trying to find a man i wanted to be with and loved and understood my urgency to have children we have been together a yr and a half and now we r getting married in june so im hoping the doctors are right!

Re: NWR: Girls with Endo or Adhesion Disease come on in......

I just want to let all you girls know that my gf who I work with has endometreosis. She is now 42. When she was trying to conceive, in her 20's, she could not and she went for infertility things and all that stuff. After finding nothing, they discovered that she had endometreosis and that is what was causing her not to become pregnant.

As soon as they cleaned the endometriosis, she was able to have children. She now has 2 kids. Their ages are 10 and 12. She still does have all her reproductive organs but does have to go for surgeries every few years to remove the endo. She also has the adhesions b/c of the endometriosis.

I just wanted to share with you girls her story b/c she is in her 40's and is still living with all her reproductive organs and was able to have children.

I am sorry you all have this painful disease. I have seen her go through it and I know it is painful.

Thank you for letting me share my gf's experience with all of you.

Just make sure that you hit all the specialists at least six months before you want to start trying. It has taken me a little over a year for the doctors to agree on a course of action to get me preggo. I'm not endo but my gyn suggests it for all forms of infertility.

I don't have endo (as far as Iknow) but I have PCOS and my hormones are totally imbalanced. I bleed uncontrollably for months at a time, it's so gross. My ovaries are filled with cysts and it's so painful in my lower back.
I'm sorry to read about what everyone is going through It's good to have someone to talk to who understands.
