NWR-Hair Coloring

So I have virgin hair but I think I want to add some color to it. I know I want a chocolate brown with no red in it. It will probably be difficult to do in my hair since it was never colored before. Someone recommended highlights versus dying the entire hair.

I don't know what to do can...anyone recommend a stylist in queens or li who I can go to?
