If you are looking at 'permanent' hair extensions.... it's not recommend. We had a post about that several months ago. It will ruin your real hair.

It doesn't ruin your real hair and I highly recommend it! I've had semi-permanent done twice. FM me if youd like info on a great lengths technician/hair stylist I use who is fabulous.

check out www.greatlengths.net if youre interested

ETA: only thing you may have to worry about is whether your natural hair is long enough for this type of extensions.

Extensions only ruin your hair if you get glue or sewn...i have hairlocs, they are protein bonds that are good for your hair and do NO damage. they are very expensive though...a couple thousand for them.

hairlocs.com will tell you more about them and you can find a salon that does them! I get mine out in Utah!

it doesnt ruin your hair, i did it twice...its not the extensions that ruin your hair, its the person taking them out...The girl when taking out my extensions took her precious time and said she promises not to rip one hair...it takes time to take those out and if they rush doing it then yes they will rip half your hair out...Both times mine were taken out my hair was exactly the way it was before it was done

well the first time i got them done i just wanted it for NYE, and didnt want to do clip ons although i just wanted it for a short period of time...Didnt get it done at my salon bc it wouldve been over $1000 and second i decided that week to do it and they were booked lol.

Everywhere i went they were $900 and up but then the place i got my dress from recommended me to go a few stores down and that she does amazing work and very reasonable...I was shocked at how great her prices were...if you do bonded it will be more but i got them sewn in and the price is amazing...FM me if you want any info

I met her on myspace awhile back. she does hair extensions in her basement but they are amazing. she does great lengths only. she gives a really good price. she does sucha amazing job too. not to mention she is so sweet. extensions like that don't ruin your hair either. mine is fine. I miss my extensions like crazy. I got 24 inches, tons of different colors and that was like $1140.

Re: NWR: HAIR EXTENSIONS

i have been wearing hair extensions for YEARS. It really bothers me that some salons rip people off for this service. I am obviously African American and I go to Domnican Salons for my extensions.

A few years ago I was shocked to find ou the number of salons chargig upward of $1000 for the EXACT same service I pay 150-200 for.

I have turned my Caucasion friends onto Dominican Salons for extensions and they couldn't be happier. My extensions are sewn in and I go to the salon for a wash and blow out every 2 weeks when i have them.

I buy my hair (that can be washed, conditioned, blow dried and curled -humen hair) from Barbies Hairworld in Queens on Hillside Avenue. I purchase hair there yesterday for $203 it is 10 oz. which will cover my full head. the colors and lengths can be customized.

I am on my way to a salon in Brooklyn that does them in a few hours. It wll cost me $200 for the salon to put the extensions in. So my total for these extensions will be $403 plus tip. But the next time I get them in 2-3 months from now I will only have to pay 200 b/c I will reuse the hair.I'll post pics of my 'before and after' extensions tonight. FM me if ou have any questions.

xoxoox,
Krystal

These pics are of my christmas extensions.
