NWR: Hair salon tipping

OK, so i have been going to the salon my cousin works at and she has beeing highlighting/cutting my hair since i was like 15 (now 30!). It is in queens and and she only works thurs-sat. it had been getting more and more difficult for me to get there and it seems to take her soooo long cause we talk so much. I leave work on thursday early at 430 for a 5pm appt and don't get home (Massapequa) until 10pm. ok, that was a vent, sorry!

real question, she has given me a discount so i always tipped nice (i think). what is a good tip for highlights, cut and blow. I am trying a new place this morning!!!

Honestly...I give my guy like $20. I have no idea if this is a good or bad tip - so I would love to hear everyone's thoughts!

Pizzaz in Little Neck. Its on Horace Harding right off Marathon Pkwy. I do love it there, Marianne is my cousin and who does my hair. I am stil gonna have her do my hair for the wedding even if I switch for everything else!

I tip about 20 - 30%, depending on the appointment. My last stylist spent 45 minutes just doing the cutting alone, so I gave him more than usual.

I usually give $10 or $15 to the hair dresser and $5 to the shampoo girl.
