I went to Vitamin Shoppe today and bought these fat burning pills that you take in the morning and before a workout. They have caffeine in them too and I'm not much of a caffeine person. (I dont drink coffee). This is what I bought::: *iSatori flashpoint. Sublingual fat burner
Just wondering if anyone has tried them and if they work or if you have advice with them. TIA

Re: NWR: Has anyone tried fat burning pills???
no, i never tried them and i wouldn't. i looked at that pill and it's mainly uppers/stimulants... basically stuff to stimulate your sympathetic nervous system, the fight/flight response. there's really no proof showing that stuff works in the long run, plus it could give you jitters or interact with other meds your are taking... i would stay away personally and lose weight the good old fashioned way. counting calories is tried and true and SAFE. good luck!

Re: NWR: Has anyone tried fat burning pills???
My friend has tried many diet/fat burning pills and she became very panicky and had heart palpitations. I would be careful.
Weight Watchers has helped me lose weight in the past. Right now I'm just eating about 1500 cals a day, and working out 6 days a week doing about 40 mins of intense cardio. It's been working wonders. Good luck!

Any diet pill that you take will not give you the desired results unless you are pairing it with a healthy diet and exercise. My best advice is to listen to your body...if you feel strange when you take them..stop.

I stay away from all so called natural supplements that claim to help you lose weight. I have heart problems, so I cannot take those diet pills. Before taking any supplement (excluding regular vitamins) I would look up all the ingredients in the bottle. They took phen-pen off the market, but there are a lot of similar ingredients. MayoClinic has a lot of information on diet pills and their ingredients. I found this one on bitter orange: Mayo Clinic Bitter Orange info
I would be careful also if you are planning a pregnancy.

Thank you everyone for your input. I asked if there were any side affects and the guy said there weren't any. I'm a very busy person with a full time and a part time job and I go to school 3 days a week on top of that. Weight has never been an issue and now I gained about 12 lbs in the past year & I hate it!
I just thought this would be a little help

Yuck~! lol Def not TMI....id like to know something like that! We'll see! They did say even if the item is opened I can still return it! So far so good and I'm on day 2.
I don't think I am eligible for weight watchers. When it comes to stuff like that they usually refer you to a chart. If that was the case, my weight is probably good for my height. But to me, my weight is not good. I want to go back to the weight I was. PS I thought I was fat then too!!!

Re: NWR: Has anyone tried fat burning pills???
I've tried several kinds of fat burners, haven't really found a good one. The thing about them is, they're good at burning fat if you take them before you exercise because you get more energy and typically can work harder/longer which helps burn more fat. Also, they tend to cut down on your appetite.
However, yes they can give you side effects like the bathroom comment and make you jittery. I know I'm about to get jumped on for this comment too but I've also tried Alli for a little bit as well. Its meant for people who are 'actually' overweight, and its an over the counter dose of Orlistat which blocks your bodies absoption of some fat. Problem is, it will also block absorption of good vitamins and minerals, which is why i stopped taking it b/c I was trying to be overall healthier.
I wouldn't discount WW... even though they do have those charts they don't tell you you can't join. You just have to be within a certain reach of your H/W goal, and if you don't want to be embarrassed by going in, call and ask. I have been going on and off for years, and sometimes yes I'm the skinniest girl in the room, but based on my profession and my feelings, that doesn't mean that i'm at the best weight I should be at, and I've always been accepted at the meetings even though I have less to lose then some of the other women.
