nwr: health insurance

any ladies work in HR or know anything about health insurance???
I basically have 24 hours left to decide if I want to switch onto my husbands plan. It seems his plan will be $100 less per month than mine...which seems almost too good to be true. what are things i should be looking for to make sure i still have at least the same coverage i have now? the one thing i notice is his deductible is $1000 and mine is only $250...what does that mean though???
im clueless about this stuff
any help or advice is appreciated

Check to see if his insurance is accepted by any doctors you are seeing now. 1000 deductible sounds about right for 2 people. If you go to his insurance website it should have everything that his coverage includes. I hate picking insurance

deductible means taht that is the amount of $$ you are responsible to pay to doctors before you just pay like a regular co-pay or something

is it $1000 for the two of you? that seems about normal. if it's $1000 each, that's really high

and i agree, check and make sure your docs accept it.

check details on the deductible - make sure your drs are covered (if you like them) - check what the co pays are (sometimes when there is a higher deductible co pays are lower) - make sure all the preventative care is included - if you get regular prescriptions, check what kind of presecription coverage he has - I work in HR (not benefits, but I explain it a lot to employees) - if you have any specific questions I'll try my best to help.
