Our coop complex is great, but unfortunately no dogs unless you are grandfathered in. You can have any other types of animals. We're in Roslyn Heights. FM if you want more info

We were in the same boat 3 yrs ago and went with a condo vs co-op. We heard over and over again that both are hard to sell, but co-ops are harder than condos. We went with a condo in Ronkonkoma, and so far, for the most part, we love it here! We have a gate/security after 9pm until 5am, a really nice pool/playground area, and we're right near a lot of things like food stores, shopping, the LIE & Northern State.

you can so afford a house in sound beach or rocky point. people are panicking and trying to move bc of the economy. yes its far, but the market will pick up again and you'll be able to sell. schools are good too.

like..here's an example.
