NWR: Help! I need a job!

NWR: Help! I need a job!

Hi ladies, I'm really hoping someone on here can help me in some way.

I've been looking for a new job for a while now, and I've applied to a bunch, but the economy is terrible, and it seems that the only way to get your foot in the door is by knowing someone. Soooo...

I have almost 10 years of customer service experience. I have done virtually every aspect of Front of House service in restaurants, and I've done some paperwork related work for one of my restaurants (ordering, P&L, sales reports, etc). I am friendly, I'm a fast learner, and I am a problem solver. I like to find long term solutions to problems and I consider myself an out-of-the-box thinker. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, but I also studied Psychology for my first year and a half of college. I also have sales experience, and administrative experience, although they aren't as extensive. I'm a great typist, good with grammar and spelling, and I can use all the Microsoft Office programs pretty easily.

If anyone knows of ANY job in Long Island, I have a reliable car, and I'm willing to travel. I'm definitely not committed to staying in the restaurant industry, in fact, I'd like to leave it completely.

Please FM me with any leads or info. I'm really hoping one of you ladies can help!!!

Thanks in advance!

Try Geico! They are always hiring and a great company to work for!

I strongly recommend looking into job fairs in News Day! OR your old college. Before I have gotten my previous job the job fairs got me interviews! If you are someone who is impressionable upon meeting face to face the way to go!!

I would recommend nannying!! Easy work, the pay is great and the day is FUN.

I would agree with Geico or you can go to this place I went to in Melville called Manpower they are a staffing agency and can place you possibly! It's worth a try! I also found that looking on the NCC and SCCC job boards you have a better chance because a lot of people just go to craigslist which I never got 1 response from! I got my job now from the SCCC board just by looking and sending out my resume. I will keep an eye out!

PS I felt that way about the serving industry when I left my old restaurant job in hunting (which was my fave place ever) and now I work 6 days a week and I'm like hmm money vs. time.. definitely a difference when you're in an office!!

good luck!!
