NWR - HELP ME!

NWR - HELP ME!

I really need to learn how to cook. I mean, I can do basic things - boil water, grill chicken

But I want to really learn...any recommendations on any good cooking classes or places to go for this type of 'problem' - LOL?

My friends recommended that I start watching the food network but I learn by hands-on!

TIA

I highly endorse Viking Culinary in Garden City. It's my favorite place!

Thanks Kathleen - that is one of our engagement pictures. I finally got around to scanning them for my photocube yesterday!

I'd also recommend watching the food network. But the best way to learn is to get in the kitchen and make some stuff!

i also recommend any of rachel rays cookbooks.... whether you like to watch her on TV or not, her recipes are GREAT for new cookers.... all of them are really good, and easy to make and really give you confidence that you can make a good meal...
i had never cooked before we got married, and then i got one of her cookbooks and i love it!
ALSO.. the crockpot is definitely your friend, too... you just throw a couple things in there, turn it on before you go to work and then when you get home dinner is already done get the 'fix it and forget it' cookboook... all kinds of good stuff you can make in the crockpot
also, ask family/friends who have been cooking for awhile for their favorite recipes.- i got a couple good ones at my shower....
Good luck! once you start cooking every day, you'll start to realize its not as hard as you think it is to whip up a good meal :-
