NWR: Help!!! What can I do to stop my hair from falling out?!!!

OK, I am really not under stress so I think my hair is falling out because its gotten really long. I don't want to cut it much b/c I want it long for the wedding. Does any one know of any vitamin or something easy that I could buy that can stop my hair from falling out?

umm I think vitamin B is for your hair. I'm not sure though. There is a product called NIXON its sold in salons, i hear it works really well.

Is it falling out or breaking? Are you noticing any bald spots?

If not, maybe a good vitamin treatment at a salon and get a trim to get rid of the dead ends. I tend to get a lot of breakage as it gets longer.

I would check with your doctor! There are medical reasons besides stress that make your hair fall out!

I am not balding or anything - thank goodness!!!!!

But I shed like crazy when I am in the shower and after I get out! It's nothing too bad ( I don't think it warrants a trip to the doctor about it ) ... I just wish I could find a product to help me stop shedding!!!

Is your protein intake high enough? Oil of Olay makes vitamin supplements that are supposed to strengthen hair and nails.

I had that with my hair, because it is really really long - and since its curly I need it really really long. I used protein treatments - which added moisture to it. Also, I trimmed it a little and it helped a lot!

I've been having the same issue for the last couple of months but, with me it is stress. (Dr. & hairdresser agree).

I was told to take Folic acid and make sure I am getting enough Vitamin B (12, etc). It's worth a try, but maybe run it by a Dr. to make sure that it is just that your hair is longer. Also getting trims regularly will help.

NIXON products do help-one bride already mentioned them. I used to use them when I was stationed on a ship and the water is highly treated and made my hair fall out-NIXON really helped lessen the amount I was losing and seemed to make my hair a little stronger, more resilient.
