NWR: hit my head yesterday... :-(

So Last night.. me and FH are painting.. i lost my footing on one of the loose floor boards (we are redoing the floor..putting wood floor down over the old tiles in the side room) and i smacked my head off the ladder into the door frame and back on the ladder. Needless to say it was very hard and i felt sick so i went to the ER ( i'm a nervous person as it is.. so this just freaked me out) ...
so i sat there for like 4 hrs.. they did a cat scan.. said they saw no bleeding..etc. etc.. and i was free to go home..

today i still feel a little light headed and it's def. tender there and of course i have a headache... i took motrin but it doesn't seem to be helping the light headedness of course...
anything else i can do???

i hate the fact that it's a head injury ( hit right in the temple area too.. so i was even more freaked) ... i know the cat scan was clean..but i still worry... any advice ladies.. thnx

I tend to be on the nervous side also. Just remember you went and they did a catscan and everything turned out fine. Just keep repeating that to yourself. If you still feel sick though and it will make you feel better go to a different hospital or your dr. and have him re-do the test.

i guess it's expected.. but i just feel tired..and i feel pressure on the side i hit the hardest...
i'm taking another motrin and trying to rest until tom. morning!!

I was told by and emergency room dr. that it is best to have a cat scan done 12 to 24 hrs. after hitting your head like that. he said that it shows if there is bleeding, then quickly after hitting your head. (unless in a severe accident.) so I would follow up with your dr. for precautions.

i'm a worry wart.. and although they think i am fine.. i know they just try and get you in and out in the ER ..especially if it wasn't a major accident!!! so far i feel pretty ok.. but not 100% .. so i'm just hoping i can get through tonight without totally going into a panic!!

I'm gonna try something stronger... it's not so much the headache..but the pressure and the light headed part that bothers me.. but i figure all i can do right now is rest anyway..

I'm gonna try something stronger... it's not so much the headache..but the pressure and the light headed part that bothers me.. but i figure all i can do right now is rest anyway..

well when i had migraines the cold towel in a dark room helped, not sure if it would help with your situation.
