Do any of you ladies have home security systems? FH and I are thinking of getting one and were trying to get an idea of costs and all that fun stuff.

I am not sure what they cost but I think the Basic installation is free on most of them, like ADT or Slomins, but you have to sign a contract and pay a monthly fee, in addition to a fee with the town to have it. My parents got theirs and I think the installation (they added a few extra upgrades) was maybe $500???? Every 3 months the bill is about 60.
You should get it....I felt so much better once we got one, not that I live in an area to be scared at all, I guess just a peace of mind! We just recently moved and now that we don't have one, I get a little freaked!!

You probably know this, but if you get an alarm system for your home you will need a home phone as well. My sister got a home alarm and wasn't planning on having a home phone, but she had to get one. FH and I REALLY don't want a home phone, so we probably won't be getting a home alarm for that reason.
