I agree, there are a lot of factors that determine the cost of insurance for a house. But you should definitely shop around and call as many insurance companies as you can for a quote. We were so discouraged when the first company we called quoted us over $2000, and a few companies quoted us around $1500. but we finally called a well-known company that quoted us around $900, so it was worth all the phone calls.
