NWR: How much does it cost you to....

Original post by esb980

Fill up our tank? Gas is going up again, and I don't know how I'm going to afford it! FH has to drive around all day for his job and it costs him like $60 to gas up (every other day!!!!). My car is like $50 for the week! $200 a mo is to much for gas!!! I'm going to have to start peddling and FH is going to have to make a career change!! I also just heard on the news that gas in 5 cents a gallon in Iraq!

what does your FH do?

Home theater and satellite. He's everywhere, everyday, from Montauk to the Bronx! He drives a truck.... Gas kills us!

It costs me about $35 week. I have a sedan and my tank holds up to 16 gallons. I also have to put premium. Right about now I am glad I don't own an SUV!

How is your total that cheap? Isn't premium like $2.80?

I am always in amazement of all othe Hummers and Escalades I see in BROOKLYN every day when I go to work. Who needs an SUV in Brooklyn? IT IS FLAT!!! I don't wanna hear about a family vehicle. My parents drove staion wagons with 4 kids. Also, SUVs make it impossible for those of us in sedans to see.

$45-50 per fill up, for my Infiniti SUV and I am lucky if it lasts a week

I know what you mean!! I hate when I'm stuck behind a big truck and I can't see what's going on up ahead. I feel so tiny in my little Jetta!!

Oh, and about the gas: I spend about $35 to fill my tank if I wait until the warning light goes on. I don't drive a huge commute, though, so a tank will last me a little more than a week.

Ugghhh 45 about every 5 days .....once I don't have the use of the AC to help eat my gas it will probably last me a week!! Bad year to buy an SUV, but I love it and will never go back!!

Goldi, that's my brother.

He lives in Brooklyn and drives this behemoth of an SUV. A Cadillac STX or something like that. It's freaking HUGE to the point where it takes up the entire driveway. I don't even know why he got it or how much he spends in gas. But the funny thing is, he's only had it a year and already had major problems and got a recall notice!!

We're quite happy with our tiny Eclipse, thank you very much!! LOL

What blows me away are that these Hummers are outside of housing projects right next to the Mercedes's, BMW's and Infiniti's. Boggles my mind.

That's because with all the cheap or no rent they pay in the projects (or their momma is paying) they can afford the nice cars!!!

Hell we would have a Mercedes too if we were paying $300 a month in rent!!

It's already $2.99 9/10 at a couple stations in Queens...mostly it's at $2.89 or $2.93 for super. It's crazy. FH and FMIL filled up last week for $47 (both 19 gallon tanks). I'm not sure how much my Civic takes to fill up...I've been pumping $20 at a time. It's just getting insane but at least it's still better than Europe.

Over $50/week for me. I have a jeep and i love it, but not so great on gas. FH has a diesel engine in his car and its so great! He only fills up once a month!

What kind of car has a diesel engine? Maybe FH should look into that!

It's a VW Beetle.

we're at about $45 a week. totally ***** since we budget $120 a month for gas. it's majorly cutting into our monthly entertainment budget!
