NWR - How to stop someone from feeling drunk

Hey ladies, I need some help. Me and my FI got into a huge fight and then he decided to drink a half bottle of Barcardi. He's not a drinker and this is the first time he has done this. I guess all of our stress is getting to both of us lately. He feels horrible.Tthrowing up, dizzy, can't walk straight and he keeps asking me to help him make it stop. Question is how do you help someone stop feeling drunk???? I need help here. Thanks!

water and sleep

DEFINITELY, if he can hold it down, the water will prevent a hangover.

Re: NWR - How to stop someone from feeling drunk

Walking outside would probably be good but we live on a 3rd floor walk up and being that he can barely stand straight stairs might be scary, lol. Thanks again. Wow it's so cool that you can get help with almost anything on here.

Re: NWR - How to stop someone from feeling drunk

Thanks everyone for all your help! I love you guys I think my problem is solved. He just fell asleep. Thank God because I was getting tired of walking back and forth and having him step all over my toes.

We've been fighting so much lately, it's driving me crazy. I feel bad for him too brcause his job has been stressful lately, & after work off to school everynight from 6:00pm - 111:00pm. Then wake up the next day to go to work from 7:00am till 3:00pm. I guess I've been putting alot of pressure on hi lately too, wedding, romance, affection, attention. You know the usual stuff us girls need. Today I just snapped on him. I was downing the wine to relax but he grabbed the bottle of Bacardi and went to town. It's so weird though because he never really drinks. I guess he really won't be drinking too much after this. This is the first time in 4 years I've seen him puke.

just make sure he sleeps on his side, not his back.

a little thing I learned at fh's fraternity... if he pukes while he's sleeping, he can choke on it if he's sleeping on his back. gross, but definitely important.

good luck! I hope you guys can work everything out soon!

Re: NWR - How to stop someone from feeling drunk

Did he drink enough water? As soon as he wakes up have a glass of water ready. The alcohol will cause him to become dehydrated which is what makes you hungover. So if he wakes up even a little bit, have him drink some water or even gatorade so that he feels like a human being in the morning.

Don't be embarassed.... we all go thru this kind of stuff.... that's what these boards are here for. At least when you come to us for help we won't harp on you like a mother/parent would.

Re: NWR - How to stop someone from feeling drunk

Plan on FH calling in sick tomorrow. Unfortunately the best thing he can do is pass out. Just make sure he dosen't vomit in his sleep. If he does, roll him over onto his side so he dosen't choke to death on his own vomit.

Sorry so gross and graphic but I have done that for someone and if I hadn't been there he would have died.

Re: NWR - How to stop someone from feeling drunk

Thanks again ladies for your quick rescue. FH woke up today and went to work He called me on his lunch break and said he felt like crap until he ate. Now he feels a lot better. He feel asleep last night at about 8:00pm. I tried to wake him around 10:30pm to see if he wanted some water or something to eat but he didn't. He slept through the whole night. Today on the phone he couldn't remember most of what he said or did. When I tell him he thinks I'm joking, lol. Now he swears he'll never drink again ( yeah right, we've all said that before). I think I may have broken my toe last night He stepped on it while he was wobbling around and it hurt like hell. Now it's kinda swollen and still is really tender. Oh well I guess there's nothing they can do for a broken toe anyway.
