My FH just called me from the city telling me he is at Howard Stern's big goodbye - big crowd even though it's raining (of course)
I know you either love him or hate him - but I literally grew up listening to him (dad's a big fan - I listened to him since I was 6!!!) That is over 25 years!)
I am going to miss him on K-Rock so much! Plus K-Rock will be no more as well...
Can't afford Sattelite at this point...
Any other Howard fans out there???

Re: NWR: Howard Stern
I can take him or leave him....listened to him every once in a while on KROCK, but won't be buying satellite radio to listen.
Can't blame the guy for moving over to satellite (money and less restrictions) but I think ALOT of his fan base won't be able to afford to listen to him......
Sorry!

I don't think so at all. Sirius is NOT expensive at all....$9.99 per month...

At this point - event that much is too expensive for us now - we are still recovering from FH's lay-off (he has another job now - but unfortunatley less money)
if it werent xmas/hannukah, we may have been able to spring for it...
oh well - maybe I can hang out with you guys in the morning????

What is exactly happening to K-Rock? What about all the DJ's & shows like Booker, Julie Slater...did they all lose their jobs?

They did. It's going to be all talk now. The Radio Chick will take Booker's slot. David Lee Roth has Howard's slot. It's called free fm or something like that. I can't wait to get sirius.

It's all going downhill for them! i actually liked them playing the older music, for a while they were turning into freakin' Z100 with all that good charlotte and those newer bands that I personally think stink! (no offense to anyone)
Q104 plays old Classic Rock KRoc was playing Rock/Alternative...
now what do we have???

I too am a fan and my husband is too so that was his christmas present. The system is not pricey either and you get all kinds of rebates..

Re: NWR: Howard Stern
I love Howard, and am so sad to see what's happening to radio...first they got rid of my beloved 92.7, then changed KRock's formula, and now it'll be all talk!!! I'm going to sirius because I don't think terrestrial radio is going to last much longer anyway, and I need my morning dose of Howard. I'm not even going to give David Lee Roth a try. How could he compare???

Re: NWR: Howard Stern
I'm always mixed depending on what Stern says. I will always listen to him, and then the minute he starts saying explicit derogatory racial and sexual things about people, I get disturbed.
