Take a can of chick peas put them in a blender with garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and whatever else you like, blend it all up and you will have great tasting hummus. I love HUMMUS!!!!!

this one is good. I only use 2 cloves of garlic and I boil them first. Another recipe said to so I do it- haha

4 garlic cloves
2 cups canned chickpeas, drained, liquid reserved
1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
1/3 cup tahini (sesame paste)
6 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice (2 lemons)
2 tablespoons water or liquid from the chickpeas
8 dashes hot sauce

Turn on the food processor fitted with the steel blade and drop the garlic down the feed tube; process until it's minced. Add the rest of the ingredients to the food processor and process until the hummus is coarsely pureed. Taste, for seasoning, and serve chilled or at room temperature.

Re: NWR: Hummus

or roasted red pepper hummus (its the only think he misses from PA. Wegmans made it)

2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans, drained
1/3 cup tahini
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup roasted red peppers
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
DIRECTIONS
In an electric food processor, combine garlic, garbanzo beans, tahini, and lemon juice. Process until the mixture is smooth. Add roasted peppers and basil; process until the peppers are finely chopped. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer hummus to small bowl, cover and chill until you are ready to serve.

You can probably find it at a place like Whole Foods or a health food store.

Yeah- I too have ruined an entire 69 cent can of chick peas...but I was trying to make one of Rachel Freakin Rays toasted chili paprika chick pea concotions. I hope the trash can liked them...lol

You can probably get tahini in the international isle in the stupidmarket

Clearly you've never seen my thighs. Not only would it not be free, but they'd ask me 'are you sure you need to eat this?'
